Pickleball is being introduced by Mr. Fredy Cantoran to ECC students in order to promote team bonding, physical activity, and competition. Today’s recruiting effort generated 55 interested students who will learn the sport during their lunch time (after they eat). Students will meet in the cafeteria on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays during lunch and escort (only those on the roster) to the gym for some friendly competition. There will be three categories to compete in, males vs males, females vs females, and mixed teams in a tournament-style bracket. The overall champions from each category will earn a trophy. The hope is that time will allow us to become proficient in the sport and ultimately organize and compete on a larger scale.
