Valley View Early College Campus

In celebration of Día de los Muertos, students have embraced the tradition of creating vibrant altars to honor and remember loved ones who have passed away. These altars, or "ofrendas," are adorned with colorful marigolds, candles, sugar skulls, and personal mementos that reflect the personalities and passions of those being honored. Through this hands-on project, students learn about the cultural significance of Día de los Muertos while practicing creative expression and cultural appreciation. By assembling each unique altar, students connect with the traditions of their community, fostering a sense of continuity and respect for their heritage.
