On October 1st, second-year students in the Law Enforcement Pathway program volunteered at the Hidalgo Police Department's annual National Night Out event. The students actively assisted in distributing items to community members, fostering a stronger connection between law enforcement and the residents of the city of Hidalgo.
During the event, they had the opportunity to meet Hidalgo County District Attorney Toribio "Terry" Palacios, which was a valuable extension of their classroom learning. Recently, students had explored topics such as the differences between district and county courts, as well as the roles of prosecutors and defense attorneys. This real-world interaction helped them bridge the gap between theory and practice.
